The rest of the picture. I changed the green lady a bit, and yes, that stupid orange balloon does have a point.
Anyway, while I was drawing the lineart I noticed that the pair on the left was rather incongruous with the other, so I shunted a rift between them and justified it.
On the left are Tatum and Ott (a name that really needed a place) two interdimensional travellers trying to get back to their original dimension, namely Deep Blue. Different dimensions are called Blues, and if they are safe to go to and from, they have names, e.g., Deep Blue, Rum Blue, Skies Blue.
Anyway, when travelling between dimensions, reality constantly repairs itself by explaining or even erasing missing persons from whatever dimension was exited, and then rewriting the destination's reality to accommodate the new arrivals. The only catch is that they still don't belong there, so they don't know who they have become. So Ott and Tatum end up in Windy Blue as heir and escort to a kingdom that's in a spot of trouble.
In come the other two, one Lady Enfys and her daughter Samira, who oppose Ott's new persona's right to rule. To make matters worse, they can't find the thing they need to hop to another dimension.
And I thought all that up in far less time than it took to draw these guys. I came up with yet another new way of texturing and shading that incorporates digital oils, dodge, multiply, and very little burn, which I mostly like. The backgrounds were a PAIN.
