Mountain by Kid-Apocalypse Mountain by Kid-Apocalypse
For :iconnaturesglory:

Sorry I couldn't work the banner in--I just never got a second chance to work on this. Maybe I can give it a second go another time... Tell me what about this works and what you expect/would rather see, so I can better figure out how it should be.

Whoa. Wild! You definitely have the feel right. And of course the faded color obviously works for a mental picture. What's best about what you did was mood you gave it. Its exactly as I saw it! I was a little afraid you were gonna excentuate a mood to be either too bright or too gloomy. You hit it straight on the head.
Hmm, for a next time? Well, I dunno this seems right, but I would say this: I had pictured the forest/lake/mountain to have a perspective of being farther away, like miles away. Hmm, all else I can think of is that maybe the forest would have a more prominent place, but otherwise, its just fine. Nice work! :#1:

Thank you! :phew: I was on my toes for this one... I thought it sounded pretty neutral, so I didn't really dwell a lot on the lighting.

It looks like a dreamscape. With the lake and the mountain and the misty quality of it all...

He gave me a good description to work from. :D And the watercolors did a lot for the misty/smoky stuff.
