Frog Tails Day 14With Dad and me both working to generate an unusually mutual income, we weren't bad off, but the financial drain of having a nice house and my eventually saving up for a car meant that we'd never really had the chance to travel. Even when we'd had enough extra money, there was never time. I'd never been outside the country, and the farthest I'd ever gone from Rosemère was London—the one in Ontario, not England. That was my only excuse for being surprised that the twins had seen snow before.

Frog Tails Day 13It didn't take as long to fall asleep as I'd thought, but when I was starting to slip onto the bridge between slumber and waking up, I dreamed that I was buried alive. When I cared enough to open my eyes, I saw a solemn little face staring down at me.

"Hi…" I couldn't breathe well with Lee sitting on my chest like that, but it was technically our first time meeting… ever, so I wasn't sure how to get him off me.

He couldn't have weighed that much, but he was sitting right on my chest. After a few more seconds of staring at me, he broke out into a completely unexpected smile, showing off uncommonly sharp canines. I smiled back a

I should break down and try digital watercolors...I don't think I have the proper program, though.

Painter 9 is the only one I have with them, but I think that some of the less tool-heavy versions have at least some of the digital watercolour brushes.
It's part of the beauty of it.

Yeah. I'm stuck with Adobe CS3 soley...not that I'm complaining...I'm so much into the airbrush aspect of art, it's pretty much what I use for the most part. Maybe I should look into an actual art program down the line, just for the variety.

Airbrushes look much nicer, IMO. I much prefer them. It's hard to choose an art program though... I think I just got extremely lucky when I got CP9. It either came with my tablet or someone gave it to me--I've been using it for so long I don't even remember. They're on 10 now, and it's a fairly expensive program.

Yeah, that's the only problem; the expense.

Sometime, I'm going to have to change my scanner, too. I am thinking about getting back into pencil drawings, but my scanner makes them look very much photoshop applications.

Sometimes I wonder why it has to be so expensive. Hardware, that makes sense to me, but some of the really expensive software doesn't seem to hold up to its price tag when demo'd.

You can probably find a scanner for around $30 if you get one used, but it's hard to tell how anything will come out. Too bad you can't demo those. :\

Sometimes I look at the sprite for Elysia and think to myself "Damn, that girl is white." It makes me happy that your interpretation of Elysia is less so. I might just have to filch your palette when I eventually update the sprites. xD

Haha, I came up with all of the colours on the fly, actually--glancing over the sprites of course. But in her case, yeah, needed the darker set of flesh tone and hair. Wing it, I did.

It just made her look...the right warmth, I think is the phrase I want.
