Gremlin's Philosophy by Kid-Apocalypse Gremlin's Philosophy by Kid-Apocalypse
One of the main characters of my upcoming NaNoWriMo idea.

His real name is Grefin St Isaac de Samun, a common name for an orphan not officially inducted into any circle of thieves. "Gremlin" is a handle, of sorts.

I was going to draw a background, but I like the effect of not having one along with what he's saying. :D

 I like this very much in more than one way. And yes, the lack of background definitly enhances it, nicely. :)

Hee, thanks! It's wonderful to be drawing again. With colour even. He turned out a little simplistic, but I think I needed a bit of a run-up.

I wanted him to say something to do with his personality and the book, without spilling anything that he will say. Then I got to be a little lazy. One of those happy accidents, right? :D

:) I hear ya.

If that's what it was, yes indeed. :) I love when those happen for me. :D

Wonder what I should do next.

 An accident that I could make seem like planning. :giggle:

Well, I like what you did, next.

My lips are sealed...esp. since that tends to happen to me frequently, as well.

:D So glad it wasn't just a fluke.

It's the best kind of boat to share~

I don't believe it is. I have noticed an evolution in your art, and I doubt it's temporary, far much less a fluke. Progress is eternal, remember. ;)

May it float forever. :D

You make a good point. :) It can slide sideways, though. There is a point I don't slide past though. Just looked at some of my stuff from last year. I think this year was my first real slump. :O

Amen!

Thanks. :thanks: He's the type of guy who solves problems by shouting at it. And when that doesn't work, he punches/stabs it.

I enjoy the irony in this immensely. I think it's better without the background, and it makes me so much more interested in the character! :)

Why thank you. :D This is one of those times when I managed to show his character succinctly, without any extra or missing bits.

I have an issue with that. First, I can't draw very well, and secondly, I have an issue with doing the small things that show characterization. I cannot stand it.

But I'm practicing. So hopefully... it will happen.

And again, lovely character piece.

TBH, I used to be absolute crap with drawing, even had an otherwise supportive friend tell me to my face that I couldn't draw at all. But practise really does account for a lot, as well as using references.

It's taken me several years to go from crap to okay, so my advice is never to stay discouraged. Also, if you like, I've got the time to do a couple of character linearts for other people. Are you interested?

:thanks:

:D Thanks. He's about sixteen, but with the cynicism of an old man.
