FINALLY SOME COLOUR.

I feel so much better now. This will be mah next book for real this time. ;3

Jimmy "Rosie" Derosa wanders the desert on a so-called journey and stumbles upon a little girl who calls herself Nick (short for Veronica). With no other recourse, and against his better judgement, he keeps her around until they reach a town--where no one speaks a language he can understand. He tries and fails several times and in several places to offload the kid, until he finds that not only is he unable to do so, he is also unwilling.

It is essentially a story about family and stubbornness.

....does that work for a back cover description?

I like the simpleness of it all...which makes me wonder if I should have simplified the cover to your other book more...it's what I originally had in mind, which is why you currently don't have a lot of detail to it now. :)

Oh, but I love the way you're going with that! The design for this one was...kind of pure inspiration and moving with it. There's much less to the environment here too.

It's funny, but I didn't even think to put the characters in other than in the title text. Does that subtract from it?

It's odd, but I had another version of the book cover mentally appear just before I got out of bed the other morning. You see more of the people, and less of the island, but the perspective would be different, of course. I may try it out of curiosity.

No, not at all. Tonnes of books go to market, just like that. :) And they do marvellously well.

Awesome. You've intrigued me. What kind of perspective?

And that's all I can ask for. :3
