100 Themes Challenge, #89 "Through the Fire"

My brother likes to pick on me when I get too excited or absentminded and start talking with speech impediments I don't actually have (sometimes ones I've never had). I've also been playing Breath of Fire 2 a lot lately.

And I doubt anyone other than me has even seen The Princess and the Goblin, but I recently somehow managed to get it on my iPod. The animation is awful, there are actually noticeable frame losses at the end, and Curdie's head is drawn so bulbous that combined with his ridiculous skinny legs, he makes me think of a spider...but I was watching it while I played BoF2 and the good parts of the style feel like they bled into this.

For the record, what I said that got me picked on was "Dreth of Fire".

And I used Corel Painter IX, Smooth Round Pen for the lines, Fill tool and Apply Surface Texture on the background (probably thick handmade paper, I forgot already), and a Simple Round Wash Watercolor brush to toss in some shading and fake color. Just in case anyone wonders and knows what I'm talking about.
