Captain MayaJack Sparrow by Kid-Apocalypse Captain MayaJack Sparrow by Kid-Apocalypse
Finally done!! :iconmayaj:

:faint: I'm still up to doing these for people, but I don't think anyone else is going to ask, so I need to make up a new bandwagon for myself. I already spun out of screenshot pictures... Maybe I'll go back to failing at drawing in Flash.

The concept: You or a character of yours with clothes and hairstyle of a character of your choice. I know it isn't original, it's just what I like doing right now.

As long as you can give me a reference or a detailed description, I'm game.

I haven't seen the movie in a while, so I used an action figure as reference. White is hard to work with... ^^;

Give you a hint in working with white. Use it ONLY as a highlight on whatever you're working on...light to medium greys, when combined with other colors tend to show up as "white", which allows the use of actual white for the lighter spots.
If ever you feel so inclined, use your color dropper on a "white" item in a photograph; you may be surprised at how un-white it actually is, sometimes...illusions....illusions. ;)

One week eighteen hours later...

Um... Me as Miri? me as whatever character you think suits me?

...*can't decide on a character* I don't know many movie-characters or book-characters that suit me.... and going as one of my characters is kinda... well, they're me anyway.

Mmph. I can't concentrate on my homework. Not good.

Miri: About 5'7", pale gold-brown complexion, angular face. dark scarlet eyes (in the story I call them 'garnet'... if you have ever seen a garnet, it looks black until the light hits just right and then you see the red), almost almond-shaped but not quite. thick auburn-red hair liberally streaked with deep gold (but not so much that you can't tell which is the dominant color), midback length.

She generally wears a loose-ish beige wrapped shirt, a tawny (gold-brown) split-skirt (remember "bell bottoms on steroids"?), and sandals.

The thing is, she looks nothing like me, but for the longest time, she WAS me, in a way.

:jots down: 'Kay, it'll be the next thing I draw. Could you clarify a little what you mean by "wrapped shirt"?

Mm... *trying to explain* Usually you pull a shirt over your head, or button it up the center, right? this is kinda like a button-up shirt, but no buttons... it ties on the inside on one hip and on the outside on the other hip. Or maybe not a wrapped shirt, but something loosish, comfortable, not too hot (because she lives in a desert area).

Just give me an in-one-place detailed description of clothes and hair and such to keep in a handy notepad file, and I'll get on it. :D

This one is more detailed though, and a more universally-known character, so more people I know are likely to actually care. ^^; Ed got to be the funniest, though. :D
